About Splashout

Splashout Art Studios (South Australia) has presented excellent services since 2002

Being an independent art education facility, Splashout creates its own programs and courses based on the many year’s experience and knowledge of its co-proprietor Krystyna Ciesiolkiewicz.  Krystyna has been a fully qualified, professional art educator for her entire career and is generally regarded as a highly effective creator of learning courses and processes for beginners all the way through to experienced exhibiting artists.  Since 2014, Splashout has been developing an equally professional team of tutors and workshop presenters under Krystyna’s guidance.

Australian born Krystyna Ciesiolkiewicz has enjoyed 38 years of achievement in Art and Education, including South Australian High Schools and TAFE.  Krysia, who has also worked in the Business and Community Sector, is now developing a team of Splashout tutors who are well qualified to get you started in Art and guide you as you progress along your way.  Scroll down to meet the team.

Krysia’s personal artwork hangs in private collections locally, interstate and overseas.  As do the works of her students, many of whom started out with Krysia as absolute beginners.  Some of these clients have even gone on to establish their own art classes.

Krysia is a well regarded South Australian Artist/Art Educator.  She creates highly effective Art education Classes/Courses/Programs.  She has a reputation for patient, well planned, skillful facilitation and demonstrates excellent group leadership skills.  Splashout tutors practise these same principles under Krysia’s coordination, direction and guidance.  Check out some of Krysia’s personal work in our Youtube clip.

Jenny Tuck: Manager/Co-founder Splashout

Jenny’s career spans a range of sectors with significant achievements.  She has held senior management positions in National Manufacturing & Marketing Companies (UK & Australia).

Jenny created and managed her own ‘Training & Development’ Business, from which she was invited as an ‘Instructor’ into the ‘Department of Technical and Further Education’ (TAFE).  Finally Jenny established and coordinated ‘PersonalLeadership’ Programs for ‘Long term unemployed youth’, in the nationally recognised Non-Profit Association ‘Youth Opportunities’.  (Plus – Founding Board Member – ‘Youth Opportunities’).

Study: ‘Diploma of Business’ (Technical College, UK).  Attended: ‘Associate Diploma of Training & Development’ (Uni SA).
Career:  Corporate sector – General Business sector – TAFE –  Community & Non Profit Sector.
Key focus: Leadership. Education. Marketing. Business. Communication skills. Life skills.

2002 Jenny retired from mainstream and founded ‘Splashout Art Studios’ with Krystyna Ciesiolkiewicz.  Having coordinated many Organisations and Professional Education Programmes, she knows what it takes to create and manage an effective learning environment.  Jenny also coordinates Splashout’s unique mix of ‘extras’ including: ‘Splashout Art Supplies’ | ‘Splashout Art Gallery’ | ‘Splashout Tours’.

Jenny says: ‘The aim of the Splashout team is for clients to enjoy their creative experience in a supportive, informal and professional learning environment.’ 

EDUCATION TEAM

Splashout takes great care in hand picking its tutors who are highly proficient at art themselves and/or are qualified, experienced Art Educators with a successful track record in tutoring.

Bernadette Woodward (B.Ed.ECE. Dip T)

Bernadette has studied art extensively and is a past client of Splashout.  She has exhibited in many solo/group exhibitions and her artwork now hangs in private collections throughout Adelaide and Australia.

Bernadette has taught youngsters at ‘The Henley & Grange Art Society’ since 1998 and is also a teacher at ‘Montessori School’.  She is well respected by Splashout clients who appreciate her knowledgeable, patient and skillful approach.

Jo Headon

Jo has studied and taught art for several years.  She joined the Splashout team in January 2015 and clients report that they enjoy Jo’s friendly non-threatening manner.

Jo is also a successful artist in her own right, with artworks that are well admired.  She also has a successful background in ‘visual merchandising’ within the retail business sector and brings with her a wide range of experience.  Jo attends a weekly Splashout ‘General Painting’ Group, as a participant, to maintain her personal skill level and assists in the development of Splashout programs with Krystyna.

Kathy Doley

Kathy has painted for many years.  She is always eager and excited to develop and explore new techniques and mediums.  Kathy has been a member of various art groups over the years and has attended Adelaide Central School of Art studying drawing and painting.  She was previously a member of ‘T’Arts Collective’ exhibiting in Gays Arcade Adelaide.

Cat Leonard

Cat is an award winning South Australian Artist with a leaning towards zany, quirky, fun (sometimes political) subjects.

Cat has studied and immersed herself in Art for many years and specialises in ‘BIG’ – ‘POP’ – ‘MOD’ colour filled artworks.  She works in bold dynamic colours and since beginning tutoring with Splashout, her presentation style is described as ‘upbeat’ and ‘liberating’ !  Visit Cat’s website here

2016 Cat joined the ‘General Painting’ tutoring team focusing on how to get the most out of your acrylics.

ADMINISTRATION TEAM

Splashout has a Team of experienced, qualified administration personnel who, whilst tucked away in the Office behind the scenes, play a pivotal role in every clients’ enjoyment at Splashout.

Gaynor Jarvis: Administration Manager

Gaynor has a successful track record in office and organisational administration.  She works part time in the Splashout office, with key administrative responsibilities along with being Jenny’s assistant.

Gaynor also works with the ‘ACH Group’ (part time) running social programs for seniors.  Gaynor can be found in the Splashout Office and will ensure that your enrolments and bookings all happen with ease and efficiency.

Sarah Philip (Adv Dip Applied & Visual Arts):  Administration Assistant

Sarah has studied and attained a ‘Certificate in Office and Business Administration’, plus an ‘Advanced Diploma in Applied and Visual Arts’.

Sarah is a past client of Splashout and still paints and exhibits her works.  Sarah joined the Splashout Team in the role of ‘Administration Support’ in 2017.

Richard Rogers

Richard specialises in teaching and painting with acrylics, helping aspiring artists unlock their creativity and gain the skills to achieve their artistic vision in whatever style they choose to work.

His relaxed and encouraging teaching style is coupled with a sound knowledge of mediums, painting techniques, colour theory and principles of composition and design.

Richard has produced several art instruction DVDs and regularly presents workshops and demonstrations around Australia. His work has featured in the ‘Artist’s Palette’, ‘Australian Artist’ and ‘International Artist’ magazines. Splashout is especially pleased to present this Workshop tutored by Richard Rogers.

Evert Ploeg (Sydney NSW)

Currently working and residing in Sydney NSW Australia, and with Dutch heritage, Evert is a multi-award winning, international artist with formidable achievements.

Evert’s representational style fused with a fresh and contemporary attitude has seen him secure portrait commissions from a diverse range of clients including Australian and international celebrities to commercial and corporate institutions. His works hang in private collections worldwide and he has previously won the ‘Archibald Portrait Prize – Packers Award’ and was twice recipient of the ‘Archibald Portrait Prize – People’s Choice Award’.

Lauryn Arnott – MVA

Lauryn Arnott is a visual artist, teacher and workshop designer/facilitator. Known for her fun, innovative projects and techniques designed to assist participants explore a spontaneous and playful approach to art and seeing and experiencing their world.

Lauryn’s love of history and her drawing abilities earned her the 2006 Association of Commonwealth Universities Art Prize in a competition titled ‘A place in the world.’ In 2007 she was the first to be awarded a ‘Master’s of Visual Arts’ Degree from ‘Adelaide Central school of Art’.

Alan Ramachandran

Alan is a multi award-winning Watercolour Artist, originally from Singapore and now residing in Adelaide, South Australia.

His passion for watercolour and his eye for detail is evident in his highly acclaimed, well sought after Artwork.

Alan presents Workshops and Tutoring in many places and Splashout is delighted to have him join the Team.
