About The Workshop
Join us for this new Workshop where we will be working in the gentle, muted style of Clarice Beckett.
About Clarice Beckett
Clarice Beckett (1887 –1935) was an Australian artist and a key member of the Australian tonalist movement.
She received very little recognition during her lifetime, but is now considered one of Australia’s leading female artists of the early twentieth century.
“She was a remarkable modernist. Her personal life was sad and her brilliance was virtually unnoticed in her lifetime. When she died of pneumonia aged forty-eight, she was completely forgotten. … In the mid 1960s Dr Rosalind Hollinrake uncovered and salvaged hundreds of the artists neglected canvases from a remote open-sided shed in rural Victoria.” (Curator, AGSA)
Some of her paintings have recently been on show in Adelaide for the ‘Clarice Beckett’ Exhibition
About the Presenter
Krystyna Ciesiolkiewicz (Dip.T. & B Ed. Fine Arts) is the Principal instructor/Program designer at Splashout. In 2002 she co-founded the popular boutique Art School ‘Splashout Art Studios’.
Australian born Krystyna Ciesiolkiewicz has enjoyed 38 years of achievement in Art and Education, including South Australian High Schools, TAFE, Private enterprise and the community sector.
Krystyna designs excellent courses, programs and workshops for beginners right through to experienced exhibiting artists. As well as being responsible for all course design and building a team of Splashout Tutors, she still personally presents classes and special workshops at the Studio.
In addition to being an Art Teacher, Krystyna is also a professional exhibiting artist who has held several solo exhibitions throughout South Australia and interstate. Her work now hangs in private collections worldwide.
There’s no better person in South Australia, that we know of, to be creating and presenting this exclusive Workshop for you all.
