The Human Face

• Workshop fee: $ 190
• Includes: Tuition + Model fee + Stretched Canvas + use of Splashout Acrylics + Medium + Brushes + Printing (use of iphone if necessary)

This unique workshop brings together all aspects of Cat’s broad range of skills, not only creating fabulous portraits of people, but also how to work with your sitter and gain the most from your session including photography.
In this workshop you will learn how to develop the following skills:

• working with your model or sitter
• how to set the scene and set up the environment for the best portraiture outcome
• how to manage studio lighting so as to create mood, atmosphere, shade or drama
• how to best photograph your subject for later use
• how to improve your photo before printing by adjusting contrast, light, cropping, etc
• how to commence your painting, working from the photograph.

You will be working with Cat and a professional model “sitter” for the first hour of this Workshop.  After a short break, we commence with our painting.
So in other words, this Workshop is not only about how to paint the portrait, but also covers the steps before starting when wishing to re-create a likeness of an actual person.

The ‘Human Face’ is for participants who really want to get serious about developing their human portraiture skills.

Some experience is necessary.  This Workshop is not advisable for beginners.
