WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

This very popular workshop will focus on portraiture (from photographs), painted with palette knives and incorporating silver and gold leaf.

About The Workshop

Lisa will share a brief slideshow of her works and history.  The workshop will then proceed with Lisa’s explanation of how she achieves her outcomes. From there on Lisa will coach and demonstrate how you too can achieve such dynamic portraits.  Note: Participants will be working in oil and acrylic paints using brushes and palette knife.  You will also learn the design and application principles of adding gold leaf to your work (all materials and equipment supplied in fee).

Eligibility

‘Portraits with Palette Knife’ is open to all artists who have previously had experience and/or learning in the freehand drawing of portraits.  A reasonable level of experience is required to participate, a very brief description of which will be requested as part of the online booking process.

A Word from the Artist

“I am an artist with a passionate interest in painting large bold people focused works using various styles to explore feelings, intensity and form working with a number of different mediums including, charcoal, bitumen, gold leaf and oils. I also paint on maps, plans or something personal to the sitter letting the images show through the painting so that the person is part of and entwined with the background.  I’m very much looking forward to presenting this Workshop for Splashout in their fabulous Marino studio.” Lisa Ingerson
